In 1957 Avelino Maldonado began selling spices out of the trunk of his car. Within months, he leased a small warehouse and established La Criolla Foods to cater to independent grocers serving Chicago’s growing Hispanic market. That same year, we introduced our specially-formulated Adobo La Criolla Seasoning. It continues to be one of our most popular items.

Over the next four decades, we’ve added more blends and products to better serve you and your cooking needs. We’ve earned the trust of countless loyal customers, including restaurants, businesses and families. We have become the choice of chefs and cooks throughout the country and we remain committed to pleasing their taste buds and perfecting their dishes.
